Provides general direct and indirect nursing care and treatment to patients in our clinic and community. This individual will demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills consistent with FHLC policies, department protocols/guidelines and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.
- RN Duties fall within the scope of triage, patient education, resulting abnormal labs, transitional care management, administering medications, and resolving patient messages that fall outside of scope of a CMA/MA.
- Provides indirect and direct patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
- Accurately document all interactions in the patient’s medical record.
- Consult and coordinate with our internal healthcare team assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Consult, coordinate and collaborate with outside providers, hospitals, and case managers for proper continuity of patient care.
- Prepare patients for healthcare provider encounters including auditing charts in accordance with standards and policies.
- Assist providers in procedures and minor surgery.
- Maintain tracking systems to ensure compliance with FHLC policies, medical guidelines, and health maintenance standards.
- Perform triage responsibilities as required.
- Room patients as required.
- Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
- Performing diagnostic and preventive procedures with technical competency as prescribed by the practitioner and according to FHLC’s policies and procedures.
- Manage, supervise, and coordinate delivery of patient care.
- Mentor as well as provide clinical support and guidance to nursing and direct support staff (LPNs, CMAs, MAs).
- Utilizing good customer service skills to diffuse potentially volatile situations and to incorporate the mission of FHLC.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Administer medications under the direction of FHLC practitioners.
- Manages, tracks, and completes ER follow-ups.
- Follows FHLC’s policy to resolve patient complaints.
- Oversight and implementation of Infection Control protocols.
- Must adhere to FHLC policies and procedures.
- Regular and Reliable Attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
